Introduction

The Cleverstory "Journey" feature provides a structured, interactive way for visitors to engage with your curated content. By guiding users through a specific path of assets in the form of recommended content, Journeys helps improve engagement, ensure that key content is consumed in order, and dynamically adapts to user behavior. Journeys provides a versatile way to personalize the content experience for your audience.

Benefits of Journeys

  • Guided Content Flow: Ensure visitors follow a structured content path tailored to their needs.

  • Dynamic Engagement: Adapt the content journey based on user interactions, preferences, and behavior.

  • Enhanced Personalization: Deliver personalized content recommendations for improved user satisfaction and conversion.

1. Steps to Create a Journey (Journey Editor)

a) Access the Journey Editor:

  • Navigate to the storyboard (Resource Center) where you want to add a Journey.

  • Head to Storyboard Settings and Select the "Journey" tab on the left-hand side.

  • Click on the "+ New Journey" button.

  • Provide a name for the Journey for easy identification.

b) Add Triggers:

  • Select how the Journey should begin:

Click 'Choose' to proceed with adding an Asset. Use queries to dynamically select an asset (e.g., asset matching specific keywords/file type/tags).

  • Click 'Save and Close'.

c) Define Conditions:

  • Add conditions to customize the Journey path based on user actions.

  • Available conditions include:

    • Time Spent: E.g., Show Asset B if the user spends less than 30 seconds on Asset A.

    • Percentage Completed: E.g., Recommend Asset C if the user views 50% of Asset A.

  • Let's take the 'Time Spent is less than' condition as an example and set the time as 10 seconds and allot an Asset each for 'Yes' and 'No'.

This would mean that when Asset A (the first asset set as a trigger) is opened by the end recipient, Asset B is displayed as a Pop-up with recommended content for the first 10 seconds. Upon crossing 10 seconds, the second condition gets activated and Asset C gets displayed as recommended content.

d) Save and Enable the Journey:

  • Once the Journey is configured, click "Save changes" to store your changes.

  • Ensure to Toggle ON and enable the journey to activate it in the Resource Center.

Note

  • Journeys apply only for Resource Centers

  • A storyboard can include multiple journeys; if an asset triggers more than one journey, the most recently added journey will be activated.

2. How Journeys Appear to End Users (Journey Viewer)

When an end-user interacts with a Journey, the experience is seamless and designed to feel like personalized recommendations. Here's what users can expect:

a) Starting the Journey:

  • The Journey begins when a user clicks on the first triggered asset.

  • The first asset (Asset B) appears as a regular recommendation pop-up within the asset viewer until the condition is completed (less than 10 seconds).

b) Adhering to the conditions

  • As users engage with assets, the recommendations update dynamically based on the conditions defined.

  • Example: If a user spends more than 10 seconds on Asset A, the next recommendation will slide in (e.g., Asset C).

c) Navigating the Journey:

  • Users can scroll or click to move through assets within the viewer.

  • The Journey automatically adjusts if conditions trigger a change in the recommended path.

d) Completing the Journey:

  • A Journey is marked complete when all assets in the defined path are consumed.

  • No further recommendations appear once the Journey is completed.
